Wild orangutans may stay with their mothers for up to eight years before they are brave enough to venture off on their own. Without help, survival for orphaned orangutans is near to impossible. The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation helps orphaned orangutans learn about life in the forest thanks to “forest school.” At forest school, young orangutans are free to explore and learn in a safe environment under the watchful eye of human caretakers.

In this video, watch as Noddy attends his first day of school.
